“Do You Think of Me Too?”

 Hey Manathin Manuscriptians,

Let’s talk about something tender today — something many of us silently feel but rarely express.

Have you ever felt like you don’t matter as much to the people who mean the world to you?
Like somewhere along the way, you remained constant in loving them, while they shifted their priorities?

I’ve felt it. Especially with someone very close.

I’ve seen them grow, putting their needs before mine, whether buying eatables, surprising  with small gifts, or always being there.

And truth be told, I didn’t expect grand gestures. I just hoped… maybe one day they’d do the same.

Not big things. Just the smallest acts of love.
Like buying me a chocolate without asking.
Calling me to check on me without a reason.
Sending a text just because they missed me.
Saying, “Hey, I got you a Five Star” — instead of asking, “Do you want chocolate or Icecream?”

I know I’m not alone.

Many of us don’t crave diamonds. We crave thoughtfulness — someone who thinks of us when we’re not around.
Someone who shows us that we matter, even in the tiniest, unsaid ways.

And when that doesn’t happen, it hurts. Not because we’re demanding. But because we feel invisible.

But here’s the thing:

You’re not wrong for feeling this way.
You’re not wrong for wanting to be seen, loved, and prioritized.
You’re not wrong for longing for effort without asking.

Still, I’ve come to realize —
Love is not always expressed the way we give it.
And people may love us deeply but differently.
That doesn’t make your feelings any less valid, nor does it mean you have to suppress your needs.

💬 “Expectation without communication leads to silent heartbreaks.”

So here’s what I’m learning to do:

  • Hold space for my feelings.

  • Express my needs gently.

  • Accept that people love differently — but my love language still matters.

To all of you who feel like your efforts aren’t reciprocated — I see you.
You’re not needy. You’re human.
And it’s okay to want the same warmth you give to others.
